RENARD'S PRIORITIES

1 New.jpg

Make El Paso the Safest City in America

The goal is to make El Paso America's #1 safest city - a title we once held. Sadly, we have dropped to number 5. Renard will work with local law enforcement to create and launch programs that prevent crime and work with the federal government to find humane, common-sense solutions to border challenges.

We can’t recruit the doctors and businesses we need in El Paso without addressing this area first. The importance of public safety cannot be overstated, and Renard is committed to turning things around.

Lowering Property Taxes and Building Our Economy

Renard is a successful and award-winning local business owner who understands the importance of supporting small businesses and startups to create quality jobs. His mission is to significantly expand our commercial tax base, which will help reduce the burden of residential property taxes on El Pasoans. Over the years, Renard has worked tirelessly to attract more businesses to El Paso, including a thriving bakery that was considering San Antonio. By increasing the number of businesses in El Paso, we can fund the city while lowering property taxes.

Renard's plan includes attracting industries such as aerospace, advanced manufacturing, and renewable energy to secure good-paying jobs for the next generation.  He strongly believes El Paso has the potential to become a thriving hub for these industries. By partnering with our local universities and businesses, we can create more job opportunities and keep our graduates in El Paso, contributing to our city's bright economic future.

Education and Student Retention

The brain drain in El Paso is a serious issue, and Renard is determined to stop it. He will actively work to bring high-paying jobs to our city to give our students more opportunities, especially in aerospace and advanced manufacturing. As a former member of the UTEP College of Engineering Advisory Board, Renard has seen brain drain up close with graduates leaving for Austin, Dallas, and other states. Renard will take a strong, comprehensive approach, connecting soon-to-be graduates with local businesses, bringing new businesses to our city and expanding education opportunities, as well as improving public safety, amenities, and overall quality of life to make graduates want to stay.

Brain drain has plagued El Paso for the last two decades, and it’s time to invest in our graduates so they have the opportunities to start their careers right here in El Paso.

Recruit More Doctors to El Paso

As Mayor, Renard will work with local hospitals to help attract more doctors to our community, addressing our significant medical professional deficit. Healthcare has improved dramatically over the last decade, but it’s no good if you have to wait months to see a doctor. Renard will ensure we recruit more doctors to prevent long wait times and lessen the need for people to travel out of town for specialists. As a board member of The Hospitals of Providence and a 2023 recipient of the Modern Healthcare Excellence in Governance Award, Renard has the experience to get to work as Mayor and address our urgent healthcare needs.

Excellent Quality of Life

Renard is incredibly proud to have been raised in El Paso and wants to ensure all families can enjoy an excellent quality of life. It’s important to take care of the basics, such as good streets and clean parks. He supports investing in new forms of tourism, entertainment, and recreation throughout the city to increase the quality of life for our residents, with a mission to enhance El Paso's appeal as a place to live, work, and visit.
